 What makes this year policy so special? Japan is an island nation in the East Asia whose capital is Tokyo. It is an archipelago of 6852 islands. The five main islands of Japan are Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu and Okinawa. It is located in  the Northwest Pacific Ocean and is bordering on the west by the Sea of Japan.
